Blender Asset QA Review Gate

A mandatory QA gate that numerically validates Blender meshes (z-fighting, normals, non-manifold, UVs, weights, materials) and renders multi-angle review sheets before export or delivery.

Image & VideoIntermediate★ 671⑂ 67AI score 9/10Last updated: Oct 30, 2026

What it does

  • Runs qa_check.py to catch z-fighting, back-to-back faces, floating/detached islands, inverted or inconsistent normals, non-manifold and boundary edges, degenerate faces, duplicate verts, n-gons, unapplied/negative scale, UV problems, bad skin weights, and material/texture errors.
  • Applies purpose-specific profiles: game, render (lenient), print (watertight), roblox (20k tris/mesh, watertight, no n-gons, ≤4 influences).
  • Provides a finding → cause → fix table with concrete Blender operators (remove_doubles, normals_make_consistent, dissolve_degenerate, fill_holes, etc.).
  • Forces a visual pass via MCP look or review_shots.py in material/solid/wireframe/xray modes, plus manual checks for silhouette, shading artifacts, hidden geometry and deformation.

Who it's for

  • Blender artists shipping game, 3D-print or Roblox assets who need a pre-delivery gate.
  • Anyone letting an AI model geometry who wants proof the result is actually clean.
  • Riggers and UV artists who want topology issues caught before they propagate.

Usage examples

  1. Check a character's parts together: scripts/qa_check.py -- --objects Body Head Hat --profile game, fix and re-run until "pass": true.
  2. Pre-upload validation for Roblox with --profile roblox to verify tri budget, watertightness and bone influences.
  3. Spot detached pieces with review_shots.py -- --objects ... --mode random (one color per object), then --mode wire for topology.
  4. Tune thresholds: --eps 0.0002 for tiny jewelry, 0.005 for large environment scenes.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart.
Copy the skills/blender-asset-qa folder from the GitHub repo EL4CTEO/blender-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/blender-asset-qa/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/EL4CTEO/blender-skills.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r blender-skills/skills/blender-asset-qa ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/EL4CTEO/blender-skills.git
  3. Create the skills folder: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
  4. Copy the skill: cp -r blender-skills/skills/blender-asset-qa ~/.claude/skills/
  5. Verify qa_check.py and review_shots.py exist under ~/.claude/skills/blender-asset-qa/scripts/.
  6. Install Blender; for live look reviews, configure a Blender MCP server connection (skip if you only run headless shots).
  7. Restart Claude Code and ask something like "run QA on this mesh before export" to trigger the skill.
