Architecture Decision Record (ADR) Writer
Turns any technical decision into a complete Nygard-format ADR with context, options, consequences and review triggers (Spanish edition).
Dev & CodingIntermediate★ 1,437⑂ 257AI score 8/10Last updated: Oct 11, 2026
What it does
- Fires on requests like "write an ADR", "document this technical decision", or "record why we picked X" and outputs a numbered ADR-NNN document.
- Fills every section: date, status (Proposed/Accepted/Deprecated/Superseded), decision makers, Context with explicit constraints, each option with pros/cons and an honest rejection reason, the Decision in plain language, positive and negative consequences, risks, implementation notes, and a measurable review trigger.
- Never stalls on missing inputs — it fills gaps with assumptions marked "(assumed, confirm)" and lists them at the end.
- Self-scores the draft against a 0–40 rubric (context reconstruction, option honesty, consequence balance, review triggers) and enforces anti-patterns such as all-positive consequences or single-option ADRs.
Who it's for
- Backend/platform engineers, tech leads and architects who must preserve the reasoning behind stack and design choices
- CTOs and engineering managers introducing RFC / design-review practices
- Teams that write engineering documentation in Spanish
Examples
- "Write an ADR for choosing PostgreSQL as our primary datastore" → ADR-012 comparing MySQL and DynamoDB with specific losing constraints
- "Document our move to a modular monolith" → accepted trade-offs plus a trigger like "revisit above 20 engineers or 10M req/day"
- "Draft why we chose REST over gRPC" → a standalone-readable Decision paragraph and a Risks section

If Claude can't open the link, open it yourself and paste the contents instead.
↓ If it works for you, download the ZIP below and install it. Then it runs on its own — no pasting each time.
Install in the Claude app (no terminal)
- Download the ZIP with the button below.
- In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and turn on 'Code execution and file creation'. (one time)
- Go to Customize → Skills → + → 'Upload a skill' and upload the ZIP.
Install in Claude Code

Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart. Copy the i18n/es/skills/architecture-decision-record folder from the GitHub repo mohitagw15856/pm-claude-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/architecture-decision-record/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/mohitagw15856/pm-claude-skills.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r pm-claude-skills/i18n/es/skills/architecture-decision-record ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Open a terminal in the folder where you keep repos.
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/mohitagw15856/pm-claude-skills.git - Create the skills folder if needed:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy the Spanish skill:
cp -r pm-claude-skills/i18n/es/skills/architecture-decision-record ~/.claude/skills/ - If
references/decision-scoping.mdortemplates/adr.mdare missing, top them up from the original:cp -r pm-claude-skills/skills/architecture-decision-record/* ~/.claude/skills/architecture-decision-record/ - Restart Claude Code and ask "write an ADR for ..." to confirm the skill triggers.
