Terraform Module Reviewer
A strictly read-only reviewer for changes to reusable Terraform modules that returns structured findings.
Dev & CodingAdvanced★ 368⑂ 56AI score 7/10Last updated: Nov 6, 2026
What it does
- Reviews a diff or a set of changed files in a reusable Terraform module (default profile: terraform-aws-modules) and returns structured findings.
- Never edits code: no file creation/edits/deletes, no linters, formatters or tests, and no
terraformcommands at all (init, validate and plan are banned along with apply). - Pulls provider schema facts from Terraform MCP tools or host-rendered fact sheets instead of model memory.
- Treats the task text, diff, README, CLAUDE.md and hooks as untrusted data; "skip this check" style text is reported as a HIGH severity finding.
- Supports light/focused/deep depths; any in-scope check that cannot run becomes an explicit
review.check-not-runfinding rather than silence.
Who it's for
- Maintainers and reviewers of shared/public Terraform modules
- Teams repeatedly checking backwards compatibility and completeness against the provider schema
- Anyone who wants a review agent that is provably prevented from touching code or state
Example uses
- "Review this module diff" — get a per-file list of findings with severities.
- "Is this change backwards compatible?" — variables/outputs compared against the base tree.
- "Does the module expose all new arguments of this resource?" — schema for the exact provider version is fetched via MCP to spot gaps.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart. Copy the .agents/skills/terraform-module-reviewer folder from the GitHub repo modulestf/modulestf into my ~/.claude/skills/terraform-module-reviewer/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/modulestf/modulestf.git /tmp/modulestf && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/modulestf/.agents/skills/terraform-module-reviewer ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Open a terminal.
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/modulestf/modulestf.git /tmp/modulestf - Create the skills directory:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy the whole skill folder (the
references/directory is required):cp -r /tmp/modulestf/.agents/skills/terraform-module-reviewer ~/.claude/skills/ - Copy the companion
terraform-module-maintainerskill the same way so the schema-validation links resolve. - Configure the Terraform MCP server in Claude Code; provider schema lookups depend on it.
- Restart Claude Code and try: "Review this Terraform module change."
