ss-learn — Design Lesson Capture

A StyleSeed skill that converts a human-approved UI design correction into a privacy-minimized local rule candidate, with explicit review and opt-in share steps.

Design & UIAdvanced★ 967⑂ 89AI score 8/10Last updated: Oct 1, 2026

What it does

  • Turns one human-approved design correction into a generalized candidate rule (problem, intervention, rationale, appliesWhen, avoidWhen, evidence).
  • Initializes .styleseed/learning/ with sharing and raw-material collection disabled; no network calls.
  • Validates out identifying data: project names, URLs, paths, emails, code snippets, prompts, screenshots, colors, font names, component names.
  • Records an explicit human accept/reject decision; only accepted candidates can be packaged for team-registry or community-candidate.
  • Provides a separate one-time MCP read grant bound to the package hash, so retries fail closed.
  • Forces honest evidence: unmeasured scores or visual checks must be null / not-run.

Who it's for

  • Teams running a StyleSeed-based design system who want to accumulate reusable rules.
  • Agencies and contractors that must never ship client code or brand assets outward.
  • Teams that want knowledge captured by human approval rather than agent self-learning.

Examples

  1. A reviewer agrees that "moving the modal's primary button raised completion rate" → capture generalizes it into a candidate record.
  2. Show the full candidate to the user, then run review --decision accepted --attestation APPROVE_LOCAL_REVIEW to lock the decision.
  3. Package with prepare-share --purpose team-registry, and only after a second explicit approval run grant-mcp-read to expose it once.

Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart.
Copy the extensions/learning/skills/ss-learn folder from the GitHub repo bitjaru/styleseed into my ~/.claude/skills/ss-learn/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/bitjaru/styleseed.git /tmp/styleseed && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/styleseed/extensions/learning/skills/ss-learn ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Confirm Node.js (18+ recommended) and git are installed: node -v, git --version.
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/bitjaru/styleseed.git
  3. Copy the skill into Claude's skills folder: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r styleseed/extensions/learning/skills/ss-learn ~/.claude/skills/
  4. Verify scripts/learning.mjs, references/privacy-contract.md, and references/candidate.schema.json exist under ~/.claude/skills/ss-learn/.
  5. Restart Claude Code and test with a request like "use ss-learn to record this design lesson".
  6. From your project root, run node ~/.claude/skills/ss-learn/scripts/learning.mjs init --project-root ..
  7. Read references/privacy-contract.md first, and only share or grant MCP access after explicit user consent.
