replica-brand
An end-to-end rebranding workflow that names your app, verifies trademarks and handles, builds a fresh palette, drafts a logo brief and voice guide, then sweeps the codebase for any trace of the original.

What it does
- Reads your differentiation angle from
replica/fixes.md, generates 20 name candidates across descriptive, compound, invented, metaphor and verb styles, then narrows to 5 using the same confusing-similarity test trademark offices apply. - Builds a checks table you actually run: USPTO, EUIPO/TMview, Canadian CIPO, WIPO Global Brand Database,
whoisfor domains, exact-name searches on the App Store and Play, and handle availability on X, Instagram, TikTok and GitHub. Each row is marked "to run" or the result with a date — never assumed available. - Produces a new palette in a different hue family from the original, validated with
contrast.pyfor zero WCAG AA failures. - Writes a logo brief (mark type, 16px favicon through 1024px app icon, SVG / favicon set / 1200x630 social image deliverables) and a voice guide (three tone words with what they don't mean, five do/don't pairs, rewrites of the 10 most-seen UI strings).
- Runs
sweep.pyover file contents, file names and identifiers (e.g.CalendlyEmbed) to catch leftover names, domains and brand colours; exit 1 means you're not done.
Who it's for
- Indie developers and solo founders shipping an app built from a reference codebase under their own identity
- Anyone who wants to screen trademark risk before committing to a product name
- Teams whose boilerplate or template still carries placeholder names and colours before launch
Examples
- "Name my app" → 20 candidates, a shortlist of 5, and a trademark/domain/handle checklist written to
replica/brand.md. - "Check for leftovers" → runs
python3 sweep.py . --config replica/brand.jsonand reports every surviving reference to the original. - "Write a logo brief and brand voice" → a brief you can hand to a designer or an image model, plus rewritten core UI copy.

↓ If it works for you, download the ZIP below and install it. Then it runs on its own — no pasting each time.
Install in the Claude app (no terminal)
- Download the ZIP with the button below.
- In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and turn on 'Code execution and file creation'. (one time)
- Go to Customize → Skills → + → 'Upload a skill' and upload the ZIP.
Install in Claude Code
Let Claude do it — paste this into Claude Code
Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart. Copy the replica-brand folder from the GitHub repo Jakeschincariol/replica-skill into my ~/.claude/skills/replica-brand/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/replica-skill.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r replica-skill/replica-brand ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Make sure Git and Python 3 are installed (
python3 --version). - Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/replica-skill.git - Create the skills directory:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy this skill:
cp -r replica-skill/replica-brand ~/.claude/skills/ - Also copy
replica-design(it providescontrast.py) so the palette contrast step works. - Open Claude Code in your project folder and say "rebrand this clone" or "name my app".
- Review
replica/brand.mdandreplica/brand.json, then rerun the sweep until it reports clean. Remember: the trademark checks are screening only — consult a lawyer before investing in a name.
