Session Title Manager (3-part format)
Internal skill that keeps Codex session titles updated every turn in the format 'status|original request|current progress'.

What it does
- Maintains the session title in a fixed
status|original request|current progresspattern. - Before each final reply, it reconciles the title with the real task state and calls the plugin's
scripts/title_runtime.pyto rename the thread. - Standardizes the status vocabulary (discussing, researching, planning, implementing, verifying, pending, done, paused, blocked) and caps each segment's length so titles stay readable.
- Preserves any segment the user edited manually, and does nothing at all when no enabled plugin installation is detected.
Who it's for
- Codex/Harbor users running the Agent Clarity title plugin with many parallel sessions.
- Anyone who wants to scan a session list and instantly see what each thread was about and how far it got.
- Teams needing a consistent naming convention that survives account switches via shared installs.
Examples
- A title updates to
Verifying|Session title automation|Checking manual-rename protection. - Even a one-line Q&A turn triggers a check, producing
Discussing|Deploy script cleanup|Comparing options. - If the user hand-edits the middle segment, only the status and progress segments keep auto-updating.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart. Copy the plugins/clarity-session-titles/skills/manage-title folder from the GitHub repo dongshuyan/compass-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/manage-title/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/dongshuyan/compass-skills.git && python3 compass-skills/scripts/title_plugin.py install⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/dongshuyan/compass-skills.git - Enter the folder:
cd compass-skills - Do not copy the skill folder alone — it requires the plugin runtime. Run the installer:
python3 scripts/title_plugin.py install - Choose the scope during install: account-wide (global) or a specific project directory.
- Restart Codex, open a new session, and confirm the title now follows the three-part format.
- If nothing changes, verify that
scripts/title_runtime.pyexists at the installed plugin path and that an enablement record was created.
