Trader Broker (Order Executor)
Places risk-approved orders one at a time through Alpaca or Interactive Brokers, never without an explicit typed yes plus Claude's own Allow once.

What it does
- Shows only tickets that passed
/trader-risk, as a plain-English ticket plus the exactplace_stock_orderJSON that will be sent. - Asks about one order per question and records your reply verbatim via
ticket.py approve; vague replies like "sure" or "yes to all" are rejected. - Walks you through setting order tools to "Needs approval" so Claude's Allow once / Deny card is always the final gate.
- Covers installing Alpaca's official MCP server (paper account by default, keys only in env vars) and adding the verified Interactive Brokers connector.
- Logs fills into
trader/portfolio.jsonas tax lots for the companion tax skill.
Who it's for
- Retail traders on Alpaca or IBKR who want AI to draft orders but keep execution control.
- Anyone wanting to rehearse an automated trading pipeline safely on paper first.
- Users who need an auditable approval trail for every order.
Examples
- "Connect Alpaca" → it adds the MCP server block to
claude_desktop_config.json, setsplace_stock_orderto Needs approval and blocks option/crypto order tools. - "Place the orders" →
ticket.py showlists five READY tickets; only ticket 1 is shown with "Place this order? Reply yes or no", and the tool is called only after a recorded yes. - You press Deny → it records
--status denied; a failed order is never retried without a fresh risk check and a fresh yes.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart. Copy the trader-broker folder from the GitHub repo Jakeschincariol/trader-skill into my ~/.claude/skills/jakeschincariol-trader-broker/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/trader-skill.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r trader-skill/trader-broker ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Clone the repo:
git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/trader-skill.git - Copy the skill folder:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r trader-skill/trader-broker ~/.claude/skills/ - Create an Alpaca account and generate paper trading API keys (separate from live keys).
- Install
uvfrom docs.astral.sh/uv so thatuvxis available. - In Claude Desktop open Settings > Developer > Edit Config, paste the block from the bundled
claude_desktop_config.example.json, and type your keys into that file only — never into the chat. - Restart Claude Desktop.
- Go to Customize > Connectors > alpaca and set
place_stock_orderto Needs approval; set option, crypto, close-all and cancel-all tools to Blocked. - Verify with a read-only call (account info) that you are on the paper account, then try saying "place the orders".
