Arena: 100-Agent Tournament

Runs N sub-agents on the exact same task, then makes them attack, defend and get judged in a single-elimination bracket until one solution survives.

UtilitiesIntermediate★ 216⑂ 24AI score 10/10Last updated: Sep 27, 2026

What it does

  • Hands one identical task (byte for byte) to N sub-agents — 100 by default, 16 with --quick.
  • Each competitor gets a unique strategy card (reasoning mode + workflow + strategy) so the approaches genuinely differ.
  • Then runs a single-elimination bracket: competitors attack each other's solutions with specific, checkable flaws (FATAL/MAJOR/MINOR), defend and revise, and a judge scores both against a written rubric (correctness, completeness, specificity, robustness, clarity).
  • If there's an answer you already rejected, a final blind check compares it to the champion — and reports honestly if the old answer still scores higher.
  • All bookkeeping lives in .arena/ via the bundled bracket.py, so a compacted context mid-run is recoverable with status → next.

Who it's for

  • Anyone stuck in a "try again / that's wrong" loop who wants structured competition instead of blind retries.
  • People producing high-stakes artifacts: design docs, architecture proposals, launch copy.
  • Power users willing to trade tokens and time for maximum output quality.

Examples

  1. /arena --quick rewrite this onboarding email for conversion → 16 competitors, ~91 sub-agent calls, affordable run.
  2. You say "that's a bad answer, do better" — the skill fires and first asks whether you want the full 100-agent arena (~595 calls), --quick, or a plain retry.
  3. /arena --agents 32 --seed 7 propose an optimization for this SQL query → fixed seed makes cards and pairings reproducible.

Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart.
Copy the skills/arena folder from the GitHub repo Jakeschincariol/arena-skill into my ~/.claude/skills/jakeschincariol-arena/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill.git /tmp/arena-skill && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/arena-skill/skills/arena ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/Jakeschincariol/arena-skill.git /tmp/arena-skill
  3. Install the skill: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/arena-skill/skills/arena ~/.claude/skills/
  4. Verify Python: python3 --version (required to run bracket.py).
  5. Restart Claude Code, cd into your project, and start small: /arena --quick <task>.
  6. If file-write approvals pile up, press Shift+Tab to switch to accept-edits mode for the run.
  7. Everything is written to .arena/ in the current directory; delete that folder when you're done.
