genshijin Token Stats

Run `/genshijin-stats` to see real token usage for the current session plus estimated savings, read straight from Claude Code session logs.

What it does

  • Reads Claude Code session logs directly to report actual token consumption — no AI-based guessing.
  • Shows the estimated token savings produced by genshijin's reduction mode.
  • How it works: the genshijin-mode-tracker.js hook detects /genshijin-stats, calls genshijin-stats.js, and the hook returns pre-formatted stats via decision: "block", so numbers appear instantly with no model computation.
  • Arguments: (none) current session / --share one-line shareable summary / --all lifetime totals / --since 7d, --since 24h windowed totals.

  • Anyone already using — or evaluating — the genshijin token-reduction toolkit.

Examples

  1. After a long refactor, type /genshijin-stats to see exactly how many tokens the session burned.
  2. Use /genshijin-stats --since 7d for a rolling weekly total during cost review.
  3. Use /genshijin-stats --share to grab a one-line summary for a team channel or social post.

  3. Important: this skill is only a wrapper — copy hooks/genshijin-stats.js and hooks/genshijin-mode-tracker.js from the repo into your hooks directory (e.g. ~/.claude/hooks/).
  4. Register genshijin-mode-tracker.js in the hooks section of ~/.claude/settings.json, following the repo README's exact configuration example.
  5. Make sure Node.js is available (node -v).
  6. Restart Claude Code and run /genshijin-stats to confirm the stats block appears.
