Founder Brand (founder-brand)

A startup branding skill that generates name candidates, trademark/domain/handle checklists, brand voice, and a colour-type-logo brief.

Marketing & SEOBeginner★ 190⑂ 17AI score 8/10Last updated: Oct 7, 2026

What it does

  • Reads your existing founder docs (founder/idea.md, founder/marketing.md, founder/competitors.md, founder/panel/results.md) so the brand matches the chosen positioning.
  • Generates ten name candidates across styles (descriptive, evocative, invented, founder's name, place), rating how each sounds aloud, reads on a sign or 32px app icon, and its risk — then shortlists three.
  • Hands you the checks to finish yourself: trademark registers (USPTO, CIPO, EUIPO, UKIPO) with search links and classes, .com plus local domains, social handles, and competitor-confusion screening — with a clear note that it is not legal advice.
  • Writes a one-line promise, three tagline options, and a voice defined by three adjectives with do/don't rules plus a before/after rewrite from founder/pitch.md.
  • Delivers a visual brief: 2-3 core colours with hex values and WCAG AA contrast checks, one display and one text typeface you can legally license, a logo brief, and the first five customer touchpoints. Output goes to founder/brand.md.

Who it's for

  • Solo founders and small teams who need a name and a coherent brand fast.
  • Anyone who wants a tight brief before hiring a designer.
  • Users of the wider founder-skill pack continuing into ops and launch.

Examples

  1. "Name my bakery" → ten candidates, a shortlist of three, plus trademark/domain/handle checks.
  2. "Give this product a brand voice" → one-line promise, three taglines, three adjectives with before/after rewrites.
  3. "What should the logo and colours look like?" → hex palette with contrast checks, two typefaces, and a logo brief covering signage and a 32px icon.
