Family Travel Editor

An AI editing partner that catalogues camera and drone footage, rebuilds the trip's story, and edits scene-by-scene inside the editor you already use.

Image & VideoIntermediate★ 446⑂ 49AI score 9/10Last updated: Oct 29, 2026

What it does

  • Catalogues footage: indexes every clip including silent ones, and keeps observed facts, metadata, author memories and assumptions strictly separated.
  • Reconstructs the story: builds a visual coverage map before picking dialogue, mapping place → action → reaction/result → ending, and never inventing a remembered event.
  • Edits bounded scenes: duplicates the timeline or creates a named version before changing anything, tracking source ranges, frame rates and each shot's role.
  • Verifies and tracks review: identifies renders by hash and distinguishes measured, transcribed, model-reviewed, actually watched/listened and author-accepted. Timecoded feedback stays with the scene; reusable taste goes into preferences.
  • Bundled scripts: self_test.py (install check), project.py (workspace init, tool discovery, export measurement), timeline.py (FCP 7 XML from a shot plan), render_preview.py (silent FFmpeg preview), resolve_bridge.py (guarded DaVinci Resolve import).

Who it's for

  • Anyone sitting on hundreds of gigabytes of trip and family footage with no idea where to start
  • DaVinci Resolve users who lose time to manual organization and version juggling
  • Filmmakers who want AI help drafting voiceover but will record and judge it themselves

Example uses

  1. "Organize these 300 drone clips from Iceland" → produces a catalogue, then narrows to one representative scene before scaling up
  2. "The evening walk sequence drags after 1:30" → duplicates the version, applies a timecoded change, and logs verification evidence
  3. "Give me the editable project plus a review cut" → delivers the native project, a clearly labelled review export, and the remaining limitations

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart.
Copy the pending/denyakortunov/family-travel-editor folder from the GitHub repo aiskillstore/marketplace into my ~/.claude/skills/family-travel-editor/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/aiskillstore/marketplace.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r marketplace/pending/denyakortunov/family-travel-editor ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/aiskillstore/marketplace.git
  3. Create the skills directory: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
  4. Copy the skill in: cp -r marketplace/pending/denyakortunov/family-travel-editor ~/.claude/skills/
  5. (Optional) Install FFmpeg for previews and export measurement. macOS: brew install ffmpeg
  6. (Optional) Install and open DaVinci Resolve if you want native timeline editing.
  7. Restart Claude Code and ask it to "check the family-travel-editor installation" so it runs scripts/self_test.py and project.py doctor.
  8. Keep your media in a separate working folder (not inside the skill) and run scripts/project.py init <workspace> to start a project.
