Competitive Matrix Builder

A slash-command skill that turns competitor score data into a weighted comparison matrix with gap analysis.

What it does

  • Reads a competitors.json file (your product's scores, competitor scores, comparison dimensions) and builds a competitive matrix.
  • Applies custom weights per dimension (e.g. --weights pricing=2,ux=1.5) to recompute overall scores.
  • Highlights gaps where you trail competitors plus market-positioning insights.
  • Exports results to JSON for reuse in docs, decks, or dashboards.

  1. Open your terminal.
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/alirezarezvani/claude-skills.git
  3. Create the skill folder: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/competitive-matrix
  4. Copy the files: cp -r claude-skills/.gemini/skills/competitive-matrix/* ~/.claude/skills/competitive-matrix/
  5. The skill references product-team/skills/competitive-teardown/scripts/competitive_matrix_builder.py, so copy that directory too (otherwise ask Claude to compute the matrix directly).
  6. Restart Claude Code, create a competitors.json in the documented format, and run /competitive-matrix analyze competitors.json to verify.
