A reader-first editing ruleset for explanations, status reports, comparisons and docs that preserves facts, conditions and hedges.

What it does
Restructures complex material so readers can find the answer and act on it, without smoothing away the information that matters.
- Gives task-specific ordering rules for answering questions, explaining concepts, comparing options, reporting progress or failures, writing tutorials, and academic writing.
- Enforces preservation of numbers, conditions, exceptions, negations, evidence strength, and execution state (planned vs. attempted vs. done vs. verified).
- Turns stacks of abstract nouns into "who did what, with what result"; keeps one name per concept.
- Ships a pre-delivery checklist that catches "may" turning into "will", "recommended" into "required", and drifted commands, paths, or citations.
Who it's for
- Engineers and technical writers producing docs, release notes, and onboarding guides.
- PMs and analysts writing long reports or status updates.
- Researchers editing argumentative text without breaking claim–evidence links.
Examples
- Turn raw install logs and investigation notes into a user-facing guide: how to start, what isn't available yet, how to recover.
- Produce a decision-oriented comparison of two approaches that states under which conditions the recommendation holds.
- Rewrite an incident report as actual state → impact → next step, keeping unverified scope attached to the claim it qualifies.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart. Copy the skills/clear-communication folder from the GitHub repo dongshuyan/compass-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/clear-communication/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/dongshuyan/compass-skills.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r compass-skills/skills/clear-communication ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Open a terminal.
- Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/dongshuyan/compass-skills.git - Create the skills directory:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy the skill:
cp -r compass-skills/skills/clear-communication ~/.claude/skills/ - Verify
~/.claude/skills/clear-communication/SKILL.mdandreferences/examples.mdexist. - Restart Claude Code and ask something like "rewrite this status report for the reader" to trigger the skill.
- The source rules are written in Chinese; state your output language and tone explicitly if you want English deliverables.
