CI Audit (ci-audit)
Measures where GitHub Actions minutes and wait time actually go, then ships ranked fixes as small PRs with warm-cache before/after numbers.

What it does
- Runs the bundled
scripts/ci_audit.pyto measure repo inventory, billable minutes per workflow over 30 days, queue/setup/run time per job, per-step seconds for a single run, and every cron as runs-per-month. - Models real cost: per-job minute rounding plus the macOS runner 10× multiplier.
- Surfaces the cheap wins first — quietly failing scheduled pipelines, a 30-second hourly cron billed as 730 min/month, cache misses, redundant steps — and ranks them by estimated minutes saved.
- Ships only what you approve: issue → branch → small PR, with CI rerun so the cache is warm and before/after numbers (and test counts) in the PR body. Experiments that measure slower get closed with their data.
Who it's for
- Teams over their included GitHub Actions minutes or watching CI spend
- Developers and platform engineers blocked on slow pipelines
- Tech leads auditing a whole portfolio of repos at once
Examples
- "Why is CI so slow?" — split the top repos' jobs into queue vs setup vs run to tell a caching problem from genuine test time.
- "We're over our Actions minutes" — compare org billing API totals against per-workflow measurements, prove two hourly crons dominate the bill, and PR a schedule change.
- "Nightly pipeline has failed for six months" — read the scheduled run logs, run actionlint on the workflow files, fix, then verify on the next real scheduled run.

If Claude can't open the link, open it yourself and paste the contents instead.
↓ If it works for you, download the ZIP below and install it. Then it runs on its own — no pasting each time.
Install in the Claude app (no terminal)
- Download the ZIP with the button below.
- In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and turn on 'Code execution and file creation'. (one time)
- Go to Customize → Skills → + → 'Upload a skill' and upload the ZIP.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart. Copy the skills/ci-audit folder from the GitHub repo coreyhaines31/makerskills into my ~/.claude/skills/ci-audit/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/coreyhaines31/makerskills.git /tmp/makerskills && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/makerskills/skills/ci-audit ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Open a terminal. This skill needs the GitHub CLI: check with
gh --version, install it if missing, then rungh auth login. - Clone the repo:
git clone https://github.com/coreyhaines31/makerskills.git /tmp/makerskills - Create the skills folder:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy the skill in:
cp -r /tmp/makerskills/skills/ci-audit ~/.claude/skills/ - Verify with
ls ~/.claude/skills/ci-audit— you should seeSKILL.md,scripts/, andreferences/. - Restart Claude Code and type "/ci-audit" or "audit our CI". Python 3 must be available; org-level billing data also needs admin access to the billing API.
