catchup (Where did I stop?)

Pulls claude-db memory and live git state into a three-group Done / Open / Next summary so you can resume a project instantly.

Dev & CodingBeginner★ 231⑂ 26AI score 8/10Last updated: Oct 7, 2026

What it does

  • Runs claude-db catchup from the project root to collect the last chat, recorded to-dos, the last handoff note and git status.
  • Answers using only that output, in exactly three short groups: Done / Open / Next.
  • Dates the information (e.g. Last chat (Oct 6)) and marks anything uncertain with (guess) instead of asserting it.
  • Strictly read-only: it saves nothing and never runs repository-changing commands.

Who it's for

  • Developers juggling several repos who lose context between sessions.
  • Anyone tired of re-explaining "where I left off" at the start of every new chat.
  • Teams that pass work along via handoff notes.
  • Existing or prospective claude-db users.

Example uses

  1. Reopen a repo after a week off and ask "where did I stop?" — get a three-line Done/Open/Next brief.
  2. Start a fresh chat session and immediately see uncommitted work plus leftover to-dos.
  3. Surface a teammate's handoff Next line as the top priority for today.

Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart.
Copy the skills/catchup folder from the GitHub repo Avijit07x/claude-db into my ~/.claude/skills/catchup/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/Avijit07x/claude-db.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r claude-db/skills/catchup ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Install the claude-db CLI first and verify with claude-db --help (this skill ships with claude-db).
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/Avijit07x/claude-db.git
  3. Copy the skill into place: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r claude-db/skills/catchup ~/.claude/skills/
  4. Confirm that ~/.claude/skills/catchup/SKILL.md exists.
  5. Restart Claude Code, go to a project root, and ask "where did I leave off?" to trigger it.
  6. If you see Nothing recorded for this project yet., there is no history yet — record chats/handoffs with claude-db first.
