brag-slim — Instant Launch Video

Turns a project directory or website URL into a 15–25 second launch video with music, motion, a poster frame, and ready-to-post share copy.

What it does

  • Inspects either your current project's code or a live URL (falling back to a headless browser for JS-rendered pages) to harvest real copy, colors, fonts, logos and product flows.
  • Writes brag-plan.md first: angle, hook, 2–3 highlights, punchline, tone, and a scene-by-scene storyboard that sums to the target duration.
  • Enforces concrete creative laws — 2-second hook, reuse the real UI instead of rebuilding it, no invented metrics, ~0.3s of readable time per word, every frame postable.
  • Designs music and SFX as one mixed piece, QAs stills from every scene and mid-transition, then renders brag.mp4 in landscape, vertical or square at 30fps.
  • Delivers brag.jpg as frame 0 poster plus share-copy.txt, and offers to re-roll a scene or swap tones.

Who it's for

  • Developers and indie makers who want to show off a side project or new feature.
  • Solo founders and small teams with a landing page but no promo video.
  • Marketers who want to A/B several tonal takes on a product demo quickly.

Examples

  1. Run /brag-slim inside a repo → it reads the app, README and components and builds a ~20s landscape launch clip.
  2. /brag-slim example.com --tone yc-parody --format vertical → scrapes the site's real CSS and assets for a deadpan vertical short.
  3. "Brag about just the new export feature, cinematic trailer vibe, 15 seconds" → it refocuses the storyboard on that single feature.

Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart.
Copy the skills/brag-slim folder from the GitHub repo latent-spaces/brag into my ~/.claude/skills/brag-slim/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/latent-spaces/brag.git /tmp/brag && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/brag/skills/brag-slim ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/latent-spaces/brag.git /tmp/brag
  3. Make sure the skills folder exists: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
  4. Copy the skill in: cp -r /tmp/brag/skills/brag-slim ~/.claude/skills/
  5. Verify you have rendering tooling available, e.g. ffmpeg -version (install with brew install ffmpeg or apt install ffmpeg if missing).
  6. Restart Claude Code, cd into the project you want to brag about, and type /brag-slim.
  7. Find the deliverables in brag-output/: brag.mp4, brag.jpg, and share-copy.txt.
