ASO Listing Audit

Fetches an App Store or Google Play listing, scores it across six weighted dimensions, and returns a prioritized optimization plan.

Marketing & SEOIntermediate★ 54,199⑂ 8,051AI score 9/10Last updated: Oct 8, 2026

What it does

  • Detects the store from the URL (or searches by app name), then pulls every available field: title, subtitle/short description, descriptions, screenshots, video, rating, category, update recency, data safety, and more.
  • Classifies brand maturity (Dominant / Established / Challenger) before scoring, so a household name isn't penalized for deliberate brand choices.
  • Scores 6 weighted dimensions — Title & Subtitle (20%), Description (15%), Visual Assets (25%), Ratings & Reviews (20%), Metadata & Freshness (10%), Conversion Signals (10%) — for a /100 score and an A–F grade.
  • Optional competitor pass: scores 2–3 rivals, builds a comparison table, and surfaces keyword gaps.
  • Outputs a report with a scorecard, top 3 sub-one-hour quick wins, per-dimension findings, keyword suggestions with character counts, visual asset fixes, and an impact-vs-effort action plan.
  • Encodes current platform rules: Apple's byte-based keyword field, Google's indexed full description, screenshot captions indexed since 2025, Custom Product Pages, Android Vitals ranking thresholds, and title policy bans.

Who it's for

  • App developers and indie founders wondering why installs are flat.
  • Growth marketers who need a structured ASO audit without paid ASO tooling.
  • Anyone who must present a metadata comparison against competitor apps.

Example uses

  1. "Audit this listing: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/.../id123456" → scorecard plus three quick wins.
  2. "Compare my app to these three competitors and find keyword gaps."
  3. "Rewrite my Google Play full description at 2–3% keyword density and show character counts."

  6. Restart Claude Code and ask something like "Run an ASO audit on this App Store link."
  7. For the visual-asset section, make sure web fetch and a browser/screenshot tool are available; otherwise paste a screenshot of the listing page yourself.
