App Evolver
An orchestration skill that improves an existing app using its code, product contract, authorized work history and competitor evidence, then verifies the real user-facing result.

What it does
- Binds the target first: exact app, repo/ref, runtime, current product contract, protected behavior/data, acceptance evidence and stopping condition.
- Grounds opportunities in real evidence — existing user journeys, tests, owners, authorized session history and competitors' actual implementations, not feature lists.
- Forces a decision table per candidate mechanism: evidence, user benefit, existing equivalent, fit and cost, adopt/adapt/reject, next probe.
- Implements the smallest useful increment through the repository's real engineering workflow, honoring analysis-only vs. implementation authorization.
- Verifies at the layer where the result is consumed, separates source/synthetic/runtime/packaged/production evidence, and reports what remains unverified.
Who it's for
- Developers and PMs evolving a live application by user outcome rather than feature count.
- Teams borrowing ideas from competitors who need to keep inspiration, code reuse and distribution rights as separate questions.
- Anyone maintaining sibling apps (desktop/mobile) where contracts differ and assumptions leak across.
Examples
- "Study how competitor X does offline sync and improve ours" → gather implementation evidence → fit decision → minimal increment → verify via a real sync journey.
- "Revisit our failed performance optimizations" → mine authorized history, retry only when structurally new evidence appears.
- "Analysis only, don't touch the code" → read-only pass producing an opportunity/constraint table, recommendations and the product choices the user must decide.

Read the instructions in this file and follow them to help me: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/daymade/claude-code-skills/HEAD/app-evolver/SKILL.md What I want: (describe your task here)
If Claude can't open the link, open it yourself and paste the contents instead.
↓ If it works for you, download the ZIP below and install it. Then it runs on its own — no pasting each time.
Install in the Claude app (no terminal)
- Download the ZIP with the button below.
- In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities and turn on 'Code execution and file creation'. (one time)
- Go to Customize → Skills → + → 'Upload a skill' and upload the ZIP.
Install in Claude Code
Let Claude do it — paste this into Claude Code
Install the skill I found on Claude Skill Mart. Copy the app-evolver folder from the GitHub repo daymade/claude-code-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/app-evolver/. When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.
Install with a command instead
git clone https://github.com/daymade/claude-code-skills.git /tmp/ccs && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r /tmp/ccs/app-evolver ~/.claude/skills/⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.
- Open a terminal.
- Clone the repo:
git clone https://github.com/daymade/claude-code-skills.git - Create the skills directory:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills - Copy the skill:
cp -r claude-code-skills/app-evolver ~/.claude/skills/ - Confirm the bundled docs came along:
ls ~/.claude/skills/app-evolver/references - Optionally copy the companion skills
skill-evolverandcompetitors-analysis, which this skill delegates to. - Restart Claude Code and try: "Improve this app, referencing how competitors solve it."
