Own Ads Audit (analyzing-own-ads)

Pulls every ad your brand runs (and has stopped) from the public ad library, watches the creative, and maps what your account already covers.

Marketing & SEOIntermediate★ 287⑂ 33AI score 8/10Last updated: Oct 21, 2026

What it does

  • Confirms the brand's own ad library page (name + website) and avoids reseller look-alikes.
  • Pulls the live set and the stopped set separately from the public ad library, paging deep enough to reach long-runners.
  • Runs build_ledger.py to produce ledger.md: counts, campaigns, run lengths, formats, CTAs and grouped ad copy.
  • Watches the longest-running ads with video_analysis / image_analysis and records per-ad teardowns.
  • Writes own-ads-audit.md: the angles, hooks, formats and offers you already cover, what was dropped and how fast, and which winners are carrying the account with nothing newer beside them.
  • Research only — nothing is generated, posted or planned.

Who it's for

  • Performance/growth marketers who need a map of their own creative coverage.
  • Agencies and in-house teams auditing "what are we actually running" before briefing new creative.
  • Anyone checking for creative fatigue using run length as a proxy.

Examples

  1. "Audit the ads we're running in the UK" → quick scan of 30 live / 30 stopped, 10+10 watched, coverage report written to disk.
  2. "Which of our ads is holding longest, and is anything newer beside it?" → run-length distribution with refs and counts.
  3. "Which hooks or formats have we never tried?" → the axes the account runs versus the ones with nothing on them.

Install the skill I found on AI Skill Mart.
Copy the skills/analyzing-own-ads folder from the GitHub repo SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills into my ~/.claude/skills/analyzing-own-ads/.
When it's done, tell me in one line what this skill can do.

Install with a command instead

git clone https://github.com/SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills.git && mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && cp -r superCMO-skills/skills/analyzing-own-ads ~/.claude/skills/

⚠ This is a third-party skill. Check the source repository before installing.

  1. Open a terminal.
  2. Clone the repo: git clone https://github.com/SupercmoHQ/superCMO-skills.git
  3. Create the skills folder: mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
  4. Copy this skill: cp -r superCMO-skills/skills/analyzing-own-ads ~/.claude/skills/
  5. Check Python 3 is available (python3 --version); the ledger script uses the standard library only.
  6. Configure API keys for the superCMO ad-library and vision tools — without them you'll hit no_provider_configured.
  7. Restart Claude Code and ask something like "audit the ads my company is running".
